A first time visit can sometimes be a nerve-racking experience.

Here’s a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help make a visit to Door of Hope a bit easier.

Frequently Asked Questions

We endeavor to come alongside the person and assist with healing spiritually and emotionally by being the hands and feet of Jesus and help the person connect with the Healer. Our aim is to accept > understand > care. Since pain resides in the heart we endeavor to help the person connect the pain to Jesus through prayer and identify the lies connected to the pain and ask the Holy Spirit to speak truth into the lies.

In marriage counseling we focus on learning how to care for the heart of each spouse. As wounded hearts are healed the heart opens up and connection begins to happen in the marriage relationship.

The most effective way is to spend a week of intensive counseling which consists of spending three to six hours of counseling per day for five consecutive days. If it does not work for a person to come for a week, alternatives can be discussed.

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, the inerrant and entire revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the divine and final authority for the Christian faith and life (II Timothy 3:15-17).
