individual Counseling

Christian counseling focuses on a few main principles that are different from traditional counseling. It focuses on the care of the whole person, body, soul, and spirit and maintains the values taught in the Bible. Our goal is to help people regain a sense of hope for their life that is found in Jesus Christ. We use both the disciplines of theology as well as psychology by intertwining biblical scripture and teachings to help guide you through tough issues.

COUNSELING AGREEMENT FORM
This is to certify that I voluntarily consent to work with Joseph A. Miller or Jason Schlabach I understand that some or all of the procedures used to give spiritual and emotional help to me may not be clinically demonstrated as guaranteeing either short term or long term results. I fully understand that the ministry I receive is a therapeutic prayer ministry. I also understand that while the Door of Hope counselors are licensed ministers, they does not hold themselves to be professional counselors.

I accept this ministry fully and completely, and do not hold Door of Hope counselors responsible for any outcome, nor do I hold them responsible for any care that I may need in the future. I take full responsibility for my life, health and well-being both now, and in the days to come.

I am voluntarily accepting this offer of help and acknowledge that I have been told that I am free to terminate at any time for any reason. I understand that I must take full responsibility for any and all consequences for prematurely terminating any therapeutic, emotional or spiritual intervention done on my behalf.

I am enclosing with this form a non-refundable good faith pledge of $150.00, showing that I am committing to the time that will be scheduled for me to be at Door of Hope. I also fully understand any monies I provide to Door of Hope for this time of ministry is gift of gratitude and not compensation for services rendered.
